What decor can YARD provide?

We cover all aspects of floristry, styling and stationery for your nuptials. Bouquets, buttonholes, tablescapes, ceremony flowers such as arches, plinth flowers plus more, are all within our expertise. We can also deliver a strong stationery suite for our couples from ‘Save The Dates’ all the way to ‘On The Day’ stationery.

Where are you located? And where do you cover?

The Yard Flowers Studio is located in Whitehaven in North West Cumbria, just on the edge of the Lake District. The Lake District is a beautiful part of the world and we cover all of Cumbria as well as surrounding counties. We can also cater for weddings further afield for a dreamy wedding brief.

What makes Studio YARD different? 

We can put on a show! We really understand the importance of setting a mood and atmosphere within your wedding space; and we believe the florals, and styling is a perfect way to provoke a feeling throughout your day. We are on trend, but keeping your wedding design effortless chic. We set the scene for the BEST ceremonies, food/drink/happy tears and dancing. Every client is super important to us, and we want the experience to be really personal on both parts. We love working with unique venues and styles to really bring your day to life.

When is the best time to get in touch?

12-18 months in advance is the ideal time. YARD recommends you have a number of aspects in place before looking at your venue styling. For example - venue, date, and estimated number of guests. It is also great to have a rough budget guide in mind. We always ask couples to curate a Pinterest board to gain a really good understanding of the style you like. Weekend weddings, particularly in May - September are our busiest times, so getting your booking in early is key. We only take bookings when your venue is confirmed. Where do I start with wedding styling and floristry?

Inspo inspo inspo. We suggest collating a strong group of images and reviewing these regularly. There will be often common themes that run throughout your inspiration images and by reviewing these, this will give us a more refined idea of the exact tone, feel and vision you want to create. Think about key words you’d use to describe your dream wedding, and this will help when we develop your wedding concept.

But I know nothing about weddings, HELP?!

Do not panic! To put it blunt, not many couples do. You don’t need to be an expert! That is our job. The only thing we need you to be experts in is your love story. For decor, the more images of interest and inspiration you have the better, but this doesn’t mean you wont achieve the wedding of your dreams. We will be on hand to develop ideas around you guys, and make sure you day is quintessentially you.
